Aura of Worlds Project Update 0.44.4

Newer objects include

  • ceiling lanterns that send fire ignniging sparks everywhere on being broken
  • Ball and chain traps (weaving and standard rotation variety)

Aside from that it’s been mostly technical changes this month (see below)

Changes from 0.43.8 to 0.44.4:

Yet more technical changes mostly focussed on overhauling the save system to use JSON instead of raw strings for faster and easier management in the long run.

Changes from 0.43.4 to 0.43.8:

  • Integration of JSON library.
  • User preferences for graphics settings and helper prompts ar enow saved in Settings.JSON.
  • Randomized door sprites (thanks Jess)
  • New hud icons for boomerang, double jump, blink, sword, dagger, shield and health potions.
  • Altered player jumping physics to give more control in mid-air.

Changes from 0.43.2 to 0.43.4:

  • Ball and chain can weave in and out
  • Fixed ball and chain not deletable in editor
  • Fixed centralization of ball and chain axis.
  • Adjusted spawning rate of objects.
  • Adjusted lighting from lanterns.
  • Lanterns are now immune to fire and accidental melee attacks from enemies.

Changes from 0.42.8 to 0.43.2:

  • Added kerosene lantern object (interactable; no graphics yet)
  • Added ball and chain trap (repeating hazard; no graphics yet)
  • Readjusted level size
  • Fixed bug with loose vines being generated in flooded levels.

Changes from 0.42.5 to 0.42.8:

  • Fixed rare crash with level gen.
  • Levels are now smaller by default (based on Feedback).
